It’s been awhile since I wrote anything. As soon as Pluto entered Aquarius, I stopped writing. Instead, I started doing very “Aquarian” things all related to technology. I will not bore you with the details. Today, January 1, 2025, I got an urge to write again. Mostly about the first couple of things to catch my attention New Year’s morning.
First up, I read Janet Kane’s January 2025 Forecast. Janet is a very skilled and experienced astrologer from the Washington D.C. area. What stood out to me was this:
Currently, Pluto is in Aquarius (an air sign). Later this year, Saturn and Neptune will move into Aries (fire signs). By 2026, Uranus will enter Gemini (an air sign), and Jupiter will join Leo (a fire sign). These planetary movements will align harmoniously through conjunctions, sextiles, and trines. Some astrologers are calling this era a Golden Age.
However, I hesitate to fully embrace the idea of a "Golden Age." As someone with a Saturnine perspective, I recognize the potential downsides. Fire and air signs can be fanatical, prone to inflation, scattered, impractical, and untethered. Interestingly, we have a president coming into office who embodies these elements—a fire and air person navigating these energetic waves. Kamala Harris, too, is dominated by fire and air elements. It feels almost fated that two such candidates would emerge during this unique period. For both candidates to embody these elements and run for president simultaneously is statistically rare. If you doubt the influence of fate, think again.
So, there we go. No matter who won the election, the very same energies would empower them, for better or worse.
This focus on the potential for a 'Golden Age' led me to reflect on the unpredictable nature of change, and it reminded me of a video I watched earlier today about wolves in Yellowstone National Park.
The wolf video served as a poignant reminder of the complexities of ecosystems and the unintended consequences of human intervention. This led me to revisit a Reddit post that had piqued my interest earlier, Comparing 2025 to 1956.
This takes us back to what Janet Kane wrote about: a large number of planetary ingresses on the horizon. The author, “roseappleisland,” found that several outer planets, and the Lunar Nodes, changed signs in 1956, these being Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto. She compares this to the Lunar Nodes, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune changing signs in 2025. The main difference being that Pluto changed signs in 2024, rather than in 2025, this time round, and the signs involved differ.
Sudan became independent, Israel invaded Sinai peninsula, Suez crisis, Soviet troops declared martial law in Hungary, McCarthyism continued on, and Elvis debuted. As a result rock & roll became controversial and was banned in places. - roseappleisland
The first time I read her post I thought this might be an interesting topic to dive deeper into. But it was her idea, her work, so I thought maybe I should leave it be. But today I have a desire to revisit it.
To understand the potential significance of these parallel periods, it's crucial to examine the astrological shifts that occurred in 1956. Uranus entered Leo, fostering a surge in individualistic expression and a focus on creative self-expression. This manifested in bold new art, music, and fashion popping up everywhere. Uranus in Leo brought about the birth of rock n roll with many of the musicians belonging to the Pluto in Leo generation.
Simultaneously, Jupiter moved into Virgo, potentially bringing a focus on practical matters, attention to detail, and a drive for efficiency. This likely led to improvements in how we worked and spurred the development of new inventions. When expressed on a generational level, the Virgo archetype can significantly shape societal values and priorities. A strong emphasis on efficiency, health, and meticulousness leading to breakthroughs in fields like medicine, technology, and environmental science.
Furthermore, Pluto's entry into Virgo could have brought about transformations in healthcare systems and public health awareness, prompting us to think more deeply about health and how to take better care of ourselves.
When Saturn transited through Sagittarius in 1956, it likely fostered a societal emphasis on higher learning, global perspectives, and the development of ethical and philosophical frameworks. This period may have witnessed a heightened awareness of global issues such as environmental concerns and social justice, with a growing desire to find solutions that are both practical and ethically sound.
However, this focus on grand ideals and global perspectives could also present challenges. An overemphasis on lofty goals may have led to impractical solutions that failed to address real-world realities. Furthermore, the pursuit of absolute truth could have inadvertently fostered dogmatism and intolerance towards differing viewpoints.
Essentially, this period likely saw a dynamic interplay between the pursuit of expansive ideals and the need for grounded, practical action.
However, these positive shifts were intertwined with the influence of Neptune in Scorpio, which may have intensified the exploration of the subconscious and brought about a greater awareness of social and political power dynamics. This, coupled with the North Node entering Scorpio, suggested a collective focus on confronting deep-seated issues, power struggles, and the transformation of personal and societal structures. These planetary shifts likely interacted in complex ways, creating a unique energetic landscape where individualistic expression coexisted with a growing awareness of social and political realities.
Essentially, 1956 was an interesting time. It was the birth of a period of both exciting progress and challenging introspection.
1956: Leo, Virgo, Scorpio and Sagittarius
2025: Pisces, Aries, Cancer and Gemini.
Now, let's turn our attention to the unique astrological landscape of 2025.
The year 2025 is poised for a significant shift in consciousness. With the North Node entering Pisces, we can expect a deeper connection to spirituality, compassion, and the collective unconscious. This may manifest as a heightened sense of empathy and a greater focus on collective well-being.
Furthermore, Neptune's entry into Aries may ignite a period of heightened idealism, creativity, and perhaps a sense of spiritual awakening. This could translate to a burst of creative energy, innovative ideas, and a renewed sense of hope and possibility.
However, this period of heightened idealism may also be accompanied by a need for more structure and discipline, as Saturn enters Aries. This could bring a need for groundedness and a more practical approach to achieving our goals.
Fortunately, Jupiter's transit through Cancer may provide a nurturing and emotionally supportive environment, fostering stronger family bonds and a greater appreciation for home and loved ones.
Finally, Uranus in Gemini could bring about unexpected shifts in communication, technology, and intellectual pursuits. This may lead to surprising changes in how we share information, potentially through new technologies or innovative ways of thinking.
While 2025 promises a year of profound transformation, marked by both spiritual awakening and the need for grounded action, the path may not be without its challenges. Pluto in Aquarius will continue to exert its influence, and the interplay of air and fire energies, while fostering innovation and passion, also carries the risk of extremism, social unrest, and environmental degradation. Just as the wolves played a crucial role in restoring the ecological balance of Yellowstone, navigating this 'Golden Age' requires a delicate balance. By cultivating a deep understanding of the interconnectedness of all things, embracing a spirit of humility, and prioritizing collective well-being alongside individual ambition, we can strive to harness the positive potential of this era while mitigating its inherent risks and creating a future where human flourishing is intertwined with the flourishing of the planet.

I loved the Dylan movie, but I’ve been a fan for a very long time. In fact, I hung out at the gaslight Coffee house before Dylan arrived on the scene. There is so much to write about
Regarding the astrology of that time and the present. We are moving into a very creative time, it may not be in music, but maybe space travel, what do you think catharine? I like your thoughts on the Sabian symbols.
I just watched the movie on Bob Dylan. It takes in the early 60’s when we had Jupiter Square Saturn. It is repeating this year. Dylan was born with a Jupiter conjunct Saturn and he blossomed during the first square. Astrological sh Les are fascinating to watch.
